Why Choose Covenant Academy?
Benefits of Private Christian Education
As Florida’s only certified University-Model® School, accredited with Cognia, we are passionate about the unique ability to offer our students and their families the opportunity to have the best of both worlds.
Our students enjoy the benefits of private Christian education and classroom instruction, as well as the flexibility to complete teacher directed lessons with their parents on our #covenanthomedays.
At Covenant Academy excellence in academics is a given. Our greatest focus is your child’s heart and character. Our teachers are incredibly dedicated to their profession and to the Lord. We set limits on class sizes to ensure our teachers are able to truly get to know each of their students. Together as a school and parent community we strive to reach the heart of your child for Jesus Christ. We know each of our students was designed in a unique way and for a specific purpose. We love uncovering how intertwined God is in every area of learning!
WE TREAT PARENTS LIKE PARTNERS
It’s no wonder our students travel from as far north as Oldsmar, as far west as the beaches, and as far east as South Tampa. Covenant Academy families are looking for an educational approach that allows them to have a greater level of involvement in their children’s learning than what is traditionally offered in private and public education.
It’s our greatest privilege to be apart of your children’s academic and faith journey. We work tirelessly to come alongside our families to best equip and support you. Whether it’s parent workshops or one of our many family gatherings throughout the year we want to connect with and support our parents.
WHAT WE ASK OF OUR PARENTS
Students complete the teacher directed lesson plan with the support of the parent. Teachers communicate weekly with the parents through our parent portal. Parents must work with their child to achieve high academic standards. This comes with the full support of a teacher-led assignment sheet, regular communication with their teacher(s) and (for younger grades) easy to follow teaching curriculum.
The #covenanthomedays as we call them, serve as an incredible opportunity to build relationships between parent and child, and even siblings. We love watching families grow and learn together! It’s also an opportunity for students to explore specific interests or to focus time on an area needing extra attention.
All parents/guardians must sign and abide by the Parent Covenant of Cooperation (signed during enrollment), which affirms the reading of the Covenant Academy Handbook and helps to ensure that standards for a Christian school are upheld.
VISIT OUR CAMPUS
To truly get to know us better, we encourage you to attend an OPEN HOUSE to get all your questions answered. Private tours are also scheduled throughout the year.
ENROLLMENT DATES
Current Covenant Academy students and siblings of enrolled students are able to re-enroll in October. At this time, all new students have an equal opportunity for admission consideration. Acceptance for re-enrollment is contingent on the level of academic and citizenship performance attained during the previous enrollment period and upon meeting financial obligations. Covenant will only admit students in the fall and the first week of the second semester. Registration for January must take place by December to ensure that all supplies are received prior to the start of the second semester.
KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE SCREENING
Covenant Academy does not have a birth date restriction for entering Kindergarten. To ensure readiness, Covenant offers an informal screening, typically with multiple children in a classroom environment. Screening takes place in February, May, and July. The screening generally takes 30-45 minutes. Parents receive results shortly after. Those who have enrolled, are called to schedule a screening. Alternatively, you may call the school to schedule (727)-317-5526.
NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY
Covenant Academy makes no distinction in its admission or operating policies with regard to an individual’s race, color, or national and ethnic origin because we recognize that there can be no preferential treatment with God. (Romans 2:11)
